Priorities
The buzz word for 2020 is pivot! Realigning to accomplish has been required for most of the world’s population. As we near the end of this year of change, it is good to re-evaluate and see if what once was a priority still ranks high! Do you need to step away and do some soul searching? If you asked several intimate friends and family, could they accurately give your top two priorities? Could YOU? The year has been chock full of every possible distraction, so it might be time to... Moments
Yesterday was November 22. I woke up remembering that it was the anniversary of President Kennedy’s assassination. It is funny that was the first thing that popped into my mind, but it was. Some momentous events change our lives forever. I recalled I was in my seventh-grade classroom, and our Principal Sr Lucian walked in to say to our class and Mr. Overland that JFK was dead. There is no guarantee that our lives will go as planned. Everyone has moments that changed everything. My... Read More

Climb
I was the only woman store manager in the district of ten Circuit City Stores. The District Manager was a jock and held our quarterly meetings with the entertainment and team building activities doing things that guys took lots of pride in excelling and beating one another. Go-cart races, golf, bowling, and even an obstacle course. I was expected to participate in all of these activities and did so poorly ! The worst was climbing the wall of the obstacle course. I wore the safety gear, so I... Read More

Remember
Remember November is the perfect month to recall how blessed we are. The holidays this month help us recognize those who have gone before us to pave the way. Veterans Day is a time to salute those who have served our country in peace and in war to keep us safe and free. Thanksgiving recalls when our ancestors landed here with nothing but what their small boats could carry. The Native Americans taught them how to grow crops, preserve them, and educated them about the winters to come to... Read More

Behind the Veil of Lies
I think that most people today do not want clarity. They seek someone to blame when things are “wrong,†according to their standards. Few accept their responsibility in anything. Facing our capability and culpability means being able to learn from mistakes and failures. Only 100% of the time! We cannot understand anything or even fix anything until we are honest with ourselves. God gives us the desire for truth when we believe in Him. From the first moment, after Adam and Eve... Read More

Blessings in Turmoil
I was speaking at a conference in Acapulco and flew through Mexico City. I was nervous about changing planes in a foreign city alone, and my inbound flight was late! I rushed to my new gate and made it just in time. My luggage did not! So I got to my hotel with nothing but my carryon. The hotel was on a beach and far from any shopping, so all I had easy access to were the beach vendors. I made friends with several women at the conference, and we headed out to see what we could find for me... Read More

Distancing From Approval
What might be the very best outcome from Social Distancing is the solace of not having to be constantly in search of approval by others. We are not dressing in our most stylish outfits, wearing our Jimmy Choo heels to do laundry or make bread, and certainly not feeling the need to impress our kids with the latest gossip. Maybe we all needed a time to reset our priorities and take a look at who we are! Our neighbors and some family members have lost their jobs. Everyone knows someone... Read More
